Hello, and thank you for being a great resource, this is my first post.

I set up two users on a SVMI-20E to have their voicemails emailed.

When they receive a voicemail they receive the email and the phone blinks and says they have a voicemail.

Is there any way to set up the voicemail or the phone, (using telnet, SIO Cable, MMC) to only send the email and not flash the phone? My guys are getting two copies of each message (email, phone).

Thanks in advance
S

I figured it out
I telnetted in and opened the mailbox and set

Message Alert in Currently On: to N
This Mailbox has a MWI: to N

Exited out, everything works as I hoped.

This isnt the correct solution as the messages will still be in the mailbox.

You should create a new mclass with a retention of 0 and assign those to mailboxes into this mclass.

Yeah thats true.

I set up a new mclass and set the message retention on page one to 1 (0 is not an option)

I also made sure that in the Message Retention Controls on page 4 I set:

Adjust Message Retention to Y
Message Retention to Use to 0.

Then I changed the mailboxes to the new mclass.

Did I miss anything?

You don't need to adjust the message retention on page 1, just the one on page 4.

Also put back the MWI settings you took out, incase they ever want to go back to having vm on the phone
