I had move last night , scheduled to arrive at 8:30 take phones and workstations down at nine while the counters where moved .
I walk in at 8:30 check one of the phones at the counter and it's dead , no lights nothing . say something to the manger and he says "we've been down all day no phones and no network " (so much for waiting until 9:00 so as not to disrupt business )
Sparky says everything went down when he was pulling low voltage cable but he had nothing to do with it . said he rebooted the router a couple of times but still nothing .
so we go to the backboard and every things dead , no lights on anything router, switch , KSU all dark
could it be ?
grab a electric tester and no power to the clearly marked circuit .
go back up and tell sparky "hey I don't have power on circuit 18 "
they look at each other
the GC looks at them .
off to the panel and sure enough , breaker 18 is marked ALARM and red is showing
he flips the breaker and now we have dial tone and the network is back.
10 minutes on site and I have them back working
so Customer down all day with two sparky's working on site all for a tripped breaker
(that happened while they where pulling low voltage )

Skip, I hope you went up to the sparkies with invoice pad in hand and asked them "Now, what's your company name, address and phone number?"
On tyhe serious side, I'd be asking why that breaker is marked "Alarm" and why there isn't at least one dedicated circuit to feed the communications equipment.

Well John I think the interpretation for that is "We don't know, leave us alone".

Or "We don't know, so we won't post & prove our ignorance when Hal pops by."
