Has anyone found some winter grade wire lube that dosen't freeze? Needed some today at the school that we were working at, filled sink with hot water, to thaw. Anyone put the jug in a mircowave to thaw out. OH to live in a hot part of the world. Thanks

I've wondered if adding alcohol to the clear Polywater brand would help. On a weather related note, a few Minnnesota towns installed California Wind Turbines last fall and they all froze up. The hydralic fluid and lubricating oil they used all turned to gel.

Never used any of them but looking on Google I found a few brands:

Ideal has Aqua Gel CW Cable Pulling Lubricant that goes down to -33C.

Klien has a cold weather lube good to -28C

Polywater also has a winter lube rated good to
-30C.

They all must have some sort of anti freeze in them to be good in the cold weather.

As a reminder for those in the deep south (below the 48th parallel) that -40 degrees Celsius is equal to -40 degrees Farenheit...so the rest of the conversion is fairly a non issue...-30C equals -22F :toothy:

That's cold even with a sweater.
