I have a 648 EClipse that I am testing before the installation. Options are: 648, vms, vmi, acd, time. I am using a RS232 integration to a Infostar VX2 Ver. 5. For testing purposes I have only connected two extenions out of 12 stations to the Inforstar. Everything functions except for the MWI will not light. When I press the vms key (830) I get the mailbox and new message announcment, and the status screen in the inforstar show that the MWI was sent.

Is the MWI signal sent to the Executone KS via the RS232 connection or does it use the station ports?

Are you using 3 or 4 digit extensions?
Pretty sure the mwi is sent through the Rs-232 port but I had an old site that had a problem with this because they were using 3 digit extension numbers.

What software level on VX2?
Are you running SMDI on the run dialog screen on voicemail?

If all else fails, use a BFH.

I double-checked my extensions and they are 4 digit extensions. I checked menu D in the INFORSTAR and the MWI number is the same 4-digit number.

JJ,

I have version 5.0.2 on this VX2. On the Run Dialog screen I do have [T] [SMDI1].

One thing I just noticed is when I take the system off-line the RUN NODE changes from 232 to EXE. Then, when I place the system back online I need to change back to 232 and save it.

So, when online I have Run Node: 232
When I take it off line:
F4,F7, etc
Shutdown Y
The Run Node changes to EXC.

When I go back online F3, 1. The Run Node shows EXC.
I hit F9 to scroll to 232
F5 to save
Enter to confirm and the system goes online with Run Node 232.

I do not recall if other VX2s do this.

Check your mwi and flag set up in pbx parm. screen and make sure that its set up for the 232 run node.
