Previously Google had a toolbar for PC machines but not Macintosh, and now thankfully they do.

I've been using FireFox as a browser and you can add the Google Toolbar to that. Before you hit the "add", it is a snap to click on the ABC/Check in the toolbar and it highlights any errors or unknown names in red in the text you've written. Clicking on the word opens a box to let you choose another spelling or other options such as adding the word to your personal dictionary.

The Google spell checker is the most comprehensive spelling check I've ever seen and its free. These posts will be here for a very long time and it is your choice to make them look like you won the spelling bee in your school or not.

Yes, and if you had used spellcheck, it would be I'm not Im. Not that you would want anyone to know you can do correct punctuation.

How can you add it to another tool bar Merritt?

With the google toolbar open
go to View - Toolbars - Customize
Then use the mouse pointer to click and drag the ABC icon to where you want it, you can do this to all the toolbar componets

The google bar is helpful and it has some nice tools to check site traffic etc. Web programmers love it just for that reason. However be aware that unless something has changed in the last few months, one of the the ways it gets those traffic counts is by reporting all sites you visit. In the big scheme of things you may not care, but it does slow your browsing slightly.

In the google toolbar options you can shut all that stuff off and I do suggest doing that all I am using is the search and spellcheck shut the rest down.

That's great to know Merritt. I'm really surprised that the web programmer who mentioned the slow browsing to me apparently didn't know about that. Do you notice any other negative issues? Also, which browsers have you used with google? I know you run some other plug ins for graemlins etc.

I like google's spell checker, but I have ask... how come google's spell checker flags "google" as being misspelled?
