A while ago I was in Philly and saw a bunch of alarm stickers that read "alarm uses radio to communicate" then in smaller print it stated something along the lines of "cutting the phone line will not disable the alarm"

has anyone seen these anywhere or have a supplier for something similer?

Do a search on Digicell, it's a popular cellular transmitter from Uplink (a subsidiary of Numerex Wireless). The ELK M1XSP is a popular flavor of the device for experimentors and do-it-yourself types. You might also want to search for the AnyNET NAM.

ADT is using this service out here, but I don't have any details about it's reliablity. End to end communication is done via SMS (over GSM only) and/or a proprietary service called "Cellemetry".

I've got a somewhat technical doc about it's operation if you're interested.

Thanks, I actually use honey wells GSM transmitter...I am actually looking for the stickers....lol.

We have a client who is in a pretty rough area, his phone lines keep getting cut. We want to toss a sticker next to the nid..I doubt it will help, but its worth a shot

You can buy a semi-believable sticker like that (50¢ each) over here .

I can remove the "alarmsellout" watermark from the following authentic decal in a few minutes...just ask: [Linked Image from stol03.com]

Or if you can snap a decent picture of the decal that you like, I could faithfully reproduce it on to the clear, printable decal stock that I keep around for weird stuff like this.

Of course it's fair game to post HIGH VOLTAGE - YOU COULD BE KILLED or other shock hazard stickers nearby.

All of the above assumes that the perp can read.

In really bad areas of NY City, I used to make a deal with adjoining property owners, and run the phone feeds from the next store over, leaving the original NID all wired up with no live wires in it.

I also used to put a tamper switch inside the cover of the NID, and a sticker that warned the telco tech that the NID was alarmed, and to check in with the sub before opening the NID.

Or just go ahead and set up a good old fashioned fence charger to do the job. laugh
