I had to install a drop for a M1 Option 11 2250 console today. So, I reached into the "way-back-when" box and installed a WE 66E3-25 to terminate the 25Pr. On a sad note, I'm down to just one of these wall warts now.

2/5ths of the way through, I thought I should take a picture. I think TTJoe has been working on similar hardware on his project.

Every time I have to punch one of these down, I feel compelled to kiss my BIX tool and tell it how much I love it. Those 66 tools require sooooo much more effort. It's like the difference between a wife and a mistress!

At least now I can put the 66 tool away for a few years again...long live BIX!

I have hundreds of those things and we use them all the time for small tie cable terminals, etc. They are really quite handy to have.

I've got a box of 5 of those in my basement, I wonder where they came from smile
They sure do come in handy since I don't have an Amphenol tool, so I can just run 25 pair cable for my keysets and plug them right in.
Oddly enough, and I was going to post this in another forum, I needed to run a few jumpers on my MDF and my D814 was in the car. I used a non-impact 66 tool that Sam sent me, and it was easier to use and cut cleaner than the D814!

The difference between a wife and a mistress???

Hmm. Well, I have never used a BIX tool or a mistress since I was engaged to my wife many years ago, so I cannot say one way or the other about either. I do consider my Fluk Networks impact punchdown tool to be one of the easiest things to use in telephony, but I am still trying to figure out how to incorporate my wife into my phone hobby. She politely turned down my offer to be the operator for the Roosterville Phone Company. I have an AMP tool that I got for next to nothing, that is all complete, but I have not had the courage to try to use it without someone to walk me through it. I guess I could continue with the wife/mistress/66/BIX analogy, but something tells me I had better not!

Best,

Joe

P.S. Those punch down amp connector blocks are THE thing... Ed has some for sale, I believe.

66 blocks are old school but good fun too.

Ed: That's a 66E3, right? I'm rearranging the guest room and need one of these and a couple extras would be nice too. You have hundreds? You have the covers too?

Old school? I think not. Yes, Mark, I have plenty of them for sale and they include a gray plastic cover. Send me a PM if you are interested in purchasing some of them.

You'll need to use a hosting site such as photobucket. Let's keep this on topic. Thanks
