This makes me wonder how many more "Fees" we are paying that are no longer needed.

Don't Mess With Texas? It will interesting to see how long it takes to get those fees removed.

I'm sure no one that lives in Texas will get a check in the mail with the note stating " thanks for your patronage and here is a refund check for the last 4 years of getting it stuck to you"

I got a letter from the State regarding TIF shortly after it was put into place. I can't remember exactly how it was worded but the way I understood the meaning was that I was not allowed to show a TIF charge on the invoices I was sending customers for pager services I sold. I do remember the wording had a tone about it that made me think they were trying to tell me I was going to have to eat the fee and not collect it from the customer as an additional fee from the state of Texas. But they were gracious enough to tell me that I could increase my fee for the pager service to cover my cost.

Then I got my telephone bill from SW Bell and it had the TIF fee listed. So I started showing it on my invoices and the State never bothered me about it again.
Basically, I think they were trying to hide an additional tax from the public and would have been successful if were not shown on the bills.
