I have a question about a contel executone phone system. I have a customer that has 3 lines and is adding a 4th. I thought it would be as simple as plugging the new line 4 into CO4 port on the system. I am not familiar with this system does anyone know how to program the system to accept the 4th dialtone line

There is a link above of installers that should help. If your familiar with programming on the system there are also a manuals link.
You state that it's a Contel Executone system, that may indeed be the Encore CX came in a couple of sizes 3672, 816, and 512. Is it a flat pack system or is it a box the holds circuit cards inside it?
Most programming is done via Station 100 and is not real difficult with the programming manual. welcome once again.

the system itself is flat and wall mounted it has a small card in the middle that says 408/816 it also says do not remove. I am not familiar with programming this system at all. I dont know if anyone can help me. It being an older system I thought it would be as easy as plug line 4 into system and done. I should have known better.

It's really not that difficult of a key system to program, as long as you have some programming experience in this field. The programming steps for what your asking is a non-difficult procedure.

That 408/816 card is in the middle is the SW and memory for the system. DON'T remove that. You go into installer level and set up flash 30 for the CO lines.

You do realize that you posted on a thread last posted on in November of last year?
I somehow doubt that the problem has not yet been resolved at this point in time.

Well thanks for the extremely unkind reply. paul. After all, I'm sure you have never done anything socially unacceptable.
