Yesterday while reviewing a credit card bill I found a charge for $.22 from ADELE services.

I googled Adele services and found 120 complaints from people with charges of $.22/23/24 they must be hitting 1000's of people for these amounts and making a fortune.

Just a heads up ,I cancelled my card and they reissued a new card with different # :read:

I'd rather have some fun and get after MY credit carder issuer to prove where there was an authorized transaction for the charge.

Cancelling a credit card could affect your FICO score. Ask your bank to assign you a new account number and keep that line of credit open (unless there was a security breach at the issuing institution).

The Federal Trade Commission used to have a hotline for this stuff, but it's not longer active. Instead, the FTC cites your legal rights and the steps to take against fraudulent electronic withdrawals.

If the withdrawal appears as an Internet purchase, consider filing a complaint with the IC3 .

We were getting tired of receiving solicitations from our credit card company by mail and phone. We demanded that they stop. So they discovered a new way to contact us. They put a bogus service charge on our card. When you call they remove it with there apologies and don’t miss a beat smoothly shifting into a sales pitch. second time I let them know apologies were not enough.

Yep, I have something similar going on with CitiBank. Their predictive dialer is terrible and keeps you waiting for up to 15 seconds before you hear anything. It then says that the call is from "Your card service provider attempting to collect a debt per the terms of your credit card agreement". Funny thing is that I don't owe them a dime, so I've played along to see what happens.

They keep calling me to "discuss the security settings of my account", yet I've talked to them at least twice and been fed the sales pitch to buy roadside assistance plans, accidental death insurance, credit reporting alerts, you name it.

The number that keeps calling me is spoofed as 866-251-0699, at least three times per day.

So ,They cancelled my card and reissued a new one.

The old card had a 6.99 interest rate ,new one
arrives with 13.99 it would have been cheaper to keep quiet and pay the bogus charges.
