We are using Axxess.
We would like to change the mailbox greeting and change the auto attendant message, remotely.

Can we insert a message into the auto attendant, remotely???

What system, Axxess, Axxent, IVX500? And what exactly do you mean by "remotely activate messages"? Do you want to change your mailbox greeting or get messages or are you trying to change the auto attendant message?

Lets start with changing your mailbox greeting remotely. When you call into your business and the auto attendant picks up (hi thanks for calling ABC company), press * and your mailbox/station number. It will ask you for your password and then press #. If you have no password just press #. Now that your in your mailbox dial 41 and follow prompts.

To change your auto attendant greeting you need to do this through the Administrator mailbox. So you would access the mailbox by either pressing the voicemail button or if your away from the office you would call your business. When the auto attemdant picks up press * and the Admin mailbox number. Dial the password and press #. Next dial 931. The auto attendant will ask you for a recording number. Start with 003. 001, and 002 are default system greetings and should not be changed. If 003 is the wrong one then go up 004, 005 etc. After dialing the recording number you will hear the recording. If its the right one the follow the prompts to change. If its the wrong one try dialing * to back up or press # to save current recording and then enter next recording number.

The administrator mailbox is made up by the person that installed your system so I dont know what it is or do I know the password, but try mailbox 9999 or 999.

Also be very carefull when changing the auto attendant greetings. Make sure your listening to the right one before your change it. And also remeber that if your auto attendant currently says something like "Press 2 for sales" and "Press 3 for the boss" you cant re-word it like "Press 2 for boss" and "press 3 for warehouse". This type of a change would need some additional programming to accomodate your re-wording.

Inserting a message, do you mean add a new option to your auto attendant. You can but any time you want to add something, additional programming by a tech is required.
