I use Multitech to remotely foward CO lines into an Intertel IP system
Can intertel accept an ip trunk? Does it use a standard encoder and ip protocols?

Technically no. It can not receive a SIP/IP trunk directly. What you would have to do is have the IP trunk terminate at a router and then connect the router via T-1 cable to a T-1 card in the Axxess. Down the road it will change but this is what we must do today.
