Reminds me of my 1st REAL job in the USAF. Submarine Cable Head in Thule, Greenland!

That is a real nice site, I had seen it sometime previously.

Those mainframe switches remind me of the old switch in our town. I recall as a young boy during Tropical Storm Agnes (June 1972) I was in the CO and 2 of management were frantically trying to clear trouble or trunks or something that I still don't understand.

He would start at the top of the frame and with 2 fingers he would 'rack' all the way to the bottom which was resetting, as far as I could tell, relays.

I got from the conversation that everyone in town was trying to call out and they needed to reset the relays (calls?)
