I've got a 6x with software 7.0.5.1 and SIP trunks from Broadvox. While testing in shop, I programmed a park orbit onto a couple phones and made some test calls in. After I answer the call, I attempt to park the call using the function key, but it will not work. When I do a "transfer 700", the call gets parked, but the function key will not lamp. I can retrieve the call by pressing "speaker 701". When I press "info" and the function key, it shows it is park orbit 1.........Any thoughts?

The park button you added is a retrieve only, I believe. The button for actually parking the call is a key right under the window, between release and info. I guess I should ask what phone you are using?

Right. When you hit the PARK button (between the RELEASE and the INFO keys) the system automatically puts it into Park Bin 701, 702, 703 etc---whatever is the first bin that is open. Very rarely will you get a call that needs to be parked on anything above those---most of the calls will be at 701. That is why some people program a retrieve function key of "701".

The key here is to do it the simplest way. You can transfer it to 700---but WHY?? While on a call hit the PARK button and hang up. You're done. Then to retrieve it from any phone---pick up the handset and dial 701. You're done. If you want to put a ret4rieve key (701) on the phone--that's fine---but when people get used to dialing 701 or 702 or---it's not a big deal---and you save a key for something else.

I'm using a 9112 phone...........I figured it out BTW. Oddly enough, the Park orbits don't lamp if you transfer to the Park orbits ( transfer 700). I ended up putting a park button on the phone and only then do the orbits lamp.....weird, but it works

Push and hold the hold button for about 1.5 seconds and your call will be placed in a park position from a 9112 phone.
