Are you wanting to reset the MMC800 password or the IT/DM password or both?

Hi! I need to reset the Tech/800 password as well. Might need to do the other as well. I would like to not have to erase the programming though. I saw somewhere that you can do this by setting the date a certain way and something yet I didn't get the details. The installing company wants to charge me $115 to come out and default the password on my gear. I asked them to, and a week later I called and they hadn't even booked it yet, so trying to find a better, faster, cheaper way. Anyone?

Thanks much!

Wasn't sure if I needed to start a new post or not, but I am in the same situation. Installed a 7100 and apparently didn't use my usual installer password. Is there a way to reset the dm password? I really don't want to lose all the programming I did.

Yeah, that one got me for awhile, the newsletter where they announced that snuck through my email and I didn't catch it for awhile. But to answer your question, yeah, I know the new default password, and I changed it to what I thought was my standard installation password. Evidently, I didn't, and for the life of me, I can't figure out what I put it as.

I am not aware that it changed. Could you please let me know what the default password is to get into 4.60b? I have searched around and cannot seem to locate.

Nameless, could you send the instructions for defaulting the DM and IT passwords? I can log into the MMC 800.

Loopy - Sorry No. You will have to either contact your dealer (or a dealer in your area) to change it or contact samsung direct about it.

What is with these dingbats who can't leave passcodes at factory default OR put them on a label and scotch tape them to the KSU?

Do they think they will never be fired or run over by a truck?

Do they not understand that the person who paid for the KSU OWNS the passwords and not the dingbat tech who can't be located or forgot what the password was that was changed?

We have an a-hole who left the company and convinced me to let him keep his cell number and change it over to his name.

Since then, he has been taking customer calls and doing service and not telling them he doesn't work here anymore.

Yeah, we've changed passwords...

But you can still post the password on the ksu so someone coming in can have it, that was my point.

Yeah, but that would defeat the purpose of protection from an old, rogue employee...

You let old rogue employees come into where your ksu is at?

I'm a vendor, authorized dealer. The customer unwittingly called the dude on his hold cell phone number (which he duped me into keeping), he'll take the service call and not tell them he doesn't work here anymore and then give them his new business card.

I call that B.S.

If a customer wants their password, we'll default the password for free but we won't give them ours.

Hi

I find myself in the same position as the previous poster... wanting to upgrade from our DCS816 - I thought a second user 7030 would tick all the boxes - especially with VM and SIP support. Only someone has foolishly set a password on the IS Tool (which I presume is the same as the web interface) - and I simply cannot find anything usefull on the internet to suggest how you should default it back to factory setting. My problem is I do not want to loose the VM key in the process. As far as everything else goes in memory - let it go!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

I would suggest starting a new thread on this. Now if you say that you have done a factory reset on the system therefore defaulting it. Then you should be able to use the default password for DM to get into it. That is the best advice that you will probably get without actually paying someone to do the work for you.

Hello nameless, I recently upgraded my company officeserv 7100 to v4.91, I made a DB backup in order to restore it later because the system defaults after the upgrade, but right now I don't have DM access, the defaut password for this release have changed?

The default password changed in 4.60 software, which is a couple of years old now.

The new password is in the newer manuals.

The KMMC or application Admin passcode can be easily reset on any Samsung system 4.95 or lower by using KMMC 900 and a 4 digit code I could give you. This without defaulting the system.

You really want anyone to have that procedure?

This thread is from months ago, posting in it now(and others) probably isn't necessary

I was not offering the procedure, just the proper code to enter into MMC 900 once they give me the Date and time on the system to get them in.

Suppose it's a disgruntled employee who wants to mess with the boss at work by defaulting a phone system.Again I'll ask do you want to just hand out that access? You are offering it and you don't know who you are giving it to.

If someone legitimately needs this, they can contact Samsung on company letterhead and get it done.

This thread has served it's purpose and has been locked.
