Hi Guys first post.

I just started at a job that has an Executone IDS 84 system. the power went out and now the system can receive calls but not transfer, page, no vm, etc. I was told the program needs to be reset.

I have a usb to serial => DB9 to RJ45 => IDS 84 and using ZOC Pro 6.3 to connect using Serial/Direct, TVi290 & Kermit. I get a connection but it looks like this when I hit esc.

XX>XX>
XX>XX>XX>XX>
XX>XX>XX>XX>
XX>XX>XX>XX>
XX>XX>

On the IDS84 the DS1 Light is steadily blinking red.

Help would be Greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Josh

What settings are you using?Should be 9600 8 N 1
If it has lost programming you will probably see the Operator screen and need to press CTRL P to access programming. Also, if you lost all programming due to a bad backup battery you will probably need to get the VMS option reloaded. If the battery is dead do yourself a favour and replace it before you reprogramm everything.

How do I get the VMS Option Reloaded? I think the battery is bad because everytime they have a power outage this happens.

Like I said ifthe battery is bad (and it's old) replace it first before you reprogram.Hopefully you have a backup of the programming.Look at the options listed on the main programming screen and see if the VMS option is still there. If not you will need someone to reload it like jjmaly who is a member here.

Luckily I did have a backup. System is up and running back to normal.

I did do another system backup and got a 74kb .pgm file but it said it had 293 errors. It took 20mins for the backup to download. When I restored the original backup it only took 2mins to upload. Is this normal? (Using Xmodem Transfer)

Again thanks for your help!
