Hello everyone,
I'm trying to get one line to delay ring in the evening and i'm having trouble figuring it out.
This is for a construction company with an a separate voicemail system (that plugs into the wall and the phone jack) that they use to leave nightly messages for specific projects. The field crew is supposed to call in on CO-3 every night and get their assignments/locations. All other lines (CO-1 & CO-2) should go to voicemail like normal. Also all three lines are used normally during the day.
I know the settings [411-412] set delay ring, but is this the only place that determines how many times each line rings before it picks up? I tried to set CO-3 to delay to 5 seconds, which seemed to work during the day (allowed enough time for the hard-wired answering machine to pickup), but the same delay in the evening caused the TVS-50 to pickup.
Help?
Thanks!!! Kevin

have you changed that setting on the vm port, if yes check if the line is dil1:1 to the voicemail port in night mode, as that will override other ring settings

OK, my VM port is 7, so i set DIL-7 and the Delayed Ring for CO-3 is set at 15 seconds. Hopefully this works now!
Thanks! Kevin

No if it is dil to ring vm you need the line to be set to normal to follow delay

OK, I think I understand that the delay I set doesn't matter if i'm set to DIL instead of normal. I don't think I necessarily want to use DIL because, if I understand correctly, it will forward to one port. I guess to put it a different way, i'm trying to get voicemail NOT to pickup on CO-3 in the evenings before 15 seconds. Does that make sense? Right now I have:
[412] Delayed Ringing Assignment - Evening - CO-3 (Jack No 7 & 8, i.e. voicemail ports) - 15 second delay (all other Jacks) - immediate
Shouldn't it then delay 15 seconds before going to voicemail in the evenings on CO-3? Am I missing another setting that would cause voicemail to pickup on CO-3 before 15 seconds?
Thanks so much for your help so far!

set lines 1 & 2 to ring dil 1:1 at jack 7 and Give jack 8 at night a NORMAL ringing assignment on line 3 and set that ext to delay doing this allows any one with a ringing ass on that line to pickup befor the 15 sec delay.... DO NOT REPEAT.. DD NOT SET dil 1:1 on jack 8 that will cause vm port to answer right away .... !!
