I'm working on a Partner ACS (R5) connected to a ParnterMail VS (R5). I want line 8 to ring to ext 16 for 4 rings, then go to her VM. I've programed Line Coverage Extension(#208)for line 8= ext 16, Call Coverage rings(#320) is set to 6 rings, VMS Cover Rings (#321) is set to 4 rings,VMS Hunt Schedule(#507) is Night Only, VMS Hunt Delay(#506) is set for 6 rings. I've assigned line owner ship in the VM on line 8 to be MB16. Currently, it rings only ext 16 for 8 rings and is then answered by the main VM greeting. What am I missing?

Look up Call Coverage and Line Ownership and decide which one you want. Looks like you have settings for both at the same time.

You will need to assign line ownership within the VM programing and set your #206 to option (3).

#208 Call Coverage will get the call to the mailbox, as long as you set #206 to 2, and be sure that the line appears and rings on the extension.

Mike's instructions on setting #206 to 3 and programming Line Ownership within the VM is valid as well.

The difference is: Does the line appear on any other extensions? Does the covering/owning extension use DND? Do you want to be able to answer the line from any other extension before the VM answers IF the covering/owning extension in on DND?

Coverage: The DND makes the call go to VM immediately
Ownership: The call still rings on other sets even if the the owner is on DND.
