A buddy of mine whom I'm helping with his voice mail currently has an evmc with 32 mailboxes that is full.
He purchased the exact same system except it's the 64 mailbox version.
How do we go about saving the config/greetings to disk/laptop then transfer to the new system?
Is there a GUI and cable for this thing somewhere?
He currently connects to the KSU via cable connected to his pc.
Oh yeah the KSU is an Eclipse 2 if that helps.
TIA John.

There is an IC Chip that limits the number of mailboxes you can equip on the EVMC. The 32 Mailbox PAL is marked 9144, the 64 mailbox PAL is marked 9145, and the 200 mailbox PAL is 9150. You could move the 64 mailbox PAL to your original EVMC and it will allow you to add another 32 mailboxes.
However, Be very careful. That chip is Static Sensitive and can be damaged very easily.
Also, if the new EVMC is under a waranty, this could void that if that chip is damaged.
I have read somewhere about a Backpack unit that you can use. It connects to the Printer Port on the EVMC. But I have not physically seen one.
I have connected a regular Floppy drive on the Header toward the bottom of the card. I have used this to reload the Voice Mail software but have not tried it to save Recordings.
Maybe someone else here has tried this.

He currently connects to the KSU via cable connected to his pc. If he currently connects to the system via cable and PC it sounds like you already have the GUI and cable. Or are you looking for an additional set? If you are, the company that installed it should be able to help you with that. If these two voicemails are the same version, you should be able to do what 'benedogg' said. But be careful, there is Eclipse and Axxess. Both look the same. You also might get more feed back if you finish your profile. Website (if you have one) Company name, email.

He picked up the unit online. He already connects to the phone system via cable connection and gui so is this the only way to back it up?

No its not the only way. You could also "ghost" the hard drive on the voicemail. You could also buy the "zip drive" back up utility. If you use the "zip drive" or the GUI, you will need to install a floppy drive to the voicemail.
