Hi guys, I have an XTS with the Vodavi digital Voicemail.(Blue box)When a message is left in a mailbox, I press the voicemail button enter the password and the prompt says " press 1 to receive the message, press 8 for more options etc etc. When I press 1 it just goes to the next option, press 8 for more options. If I press 1,2,1,2 then I can listen to the message. Does anyone have any idea why the digit 1 does not work anymore. Thanks

I assume that you restarted the voice mail. Sometimes a restart will clear a few cob webs out of the way.

Yes I restarted it several times. It still does not respond to the 1.

Is this happening on all mailboxes? The reason I ask is that often times, silence gets recorded as a message in voice mail systems. This causes users to think that when they press 1, it isn't working when in fact as soon as they press 1, a recording of silence is played. When this happens, pressing the key to delete this message moves on to the next message for playback.

I agree with Ed. What you are hearing is a prompt left as a message. Hit 3 instead of 1 and delete it, then all should go back to normal.

Right. either a user inadvertently transferred a voice mail prompt or this user ignorantly set their extension as the notification number. I found lawyers to be the worst offenders of that error.
