I am curious about the dB gains of the music versus voice in the recording?

I cut music for my daughters' Skateing routines and encounter this type of issue from time to time. When trying to normalize one section with another I can experience clipping if I didn't pre-set the dB levels before mixing.

I am assuming you have mixed things a time or two before wink but it may be worthwhile to double check the original files and compare the two.

Another thing to consider is what is the range of the music? You will want to reduce the bass and treble as much as possable and get it inot a range consistant with voice speech 80-100 Hz
