We installed an OS7030 two years ago now at Version 4.65.

Three MGI channels. Three SIP Licenses. All Digital Phones. Three Broadvox SIP trunks using registration.

All working perfectly until this Friday morning. There was a local power outage. System came back on with only transmit on SIP trunks. No receive on SIP trunks. Also, all calls answered by an auto attendant and now on inbound calls the voicemail does not recognize DTMF tones.

No change in the phone system.

No change in the firewall.

Just power down and power up.

We cannot figure it out. Other than the fact that Broadvox just got purchased and with the power down the SIP trunks re-registered and there is something messed up the the SIP provider.

I now know how to to a Wireshark trace.

After sending a trace to Samsung, we found that after a two hour power outage the customers Mikrotik router/firewall had decided to start blocking traffic on the 30,000 series UDP ports.

All is well now.

Wireshark is very usefull in diagnosing VoIP issues, though can be a bit painful to setup when the customer's switches can't do mirror ports, so you have to get your own (at least the samsung ubigate switches can do this)
