Good morning,
Is anyone aware of a trick to have the X16 system answer calls directly from a voicemail? I would prefer if callers didn't have to dial anything before reaching the voicemail. I tris setting the answer delay on the Attendant phone shorter than the auto attendant delay but it doesn't work. I'm thinking of maybe recording the "0" tone on my outgoing message to have the calls automatically transferred to the attendant phone but that is somewhat odd to hear. Any idea? Thanks!

Are you asking about immediate answer by the Auto Attendant or are you asking for callers to go direct to a mailbox? Remember, with the x16, there are no mailboxes until a phone is plugged in and assigned.

Dave,
I would like the incoming calls to be answered directly by a phone (and associated voicemail), not by the attendant. The idea of having to dial an extension number doesn't work well in my situation. In the hidden system menu, I noticed the AutoAttendant can de disabled but I haven't tried and I don't know how it would behave and if I can get one extension's mailbox to handle the calls.

Anyone got a quick answer for our OP? I've been so backed up that I haven't even been able to kick back in the office and look at the manual to refresh my memory. As it is, I'm only looking at this right now because I'm so wound up I can't get to sleep yet!

Same here Dave, but I have a simple solution. Turn the timing delay for the AA up to 240 seconds. That gives you plenty of time to either answer the phone or have an extension's VM pickup.

Dave,

Incoming calls in the X16 can be directed to a telephone or the auto attendant but cannot be sent directly to a single voicemail box. Must users have the callers dial zero to go to the attendant mailbox.
