I took a job as a favor for a client. The ticket is for a voicemail reset for an NEC Electra Elite IPK phone system. The phones are all D-term 80/I series.

I know how to reset voicemails and have worked with NEC systems a little in the past. However, I am unable to determine which phone is the admin phone, no one knows the admin passcode, and most phones have unknown voicemail passcodes on them.

How do I reset the admin password or backdoor into the system? That seems like the only solution at this point.

As far as the admin phone: they do not have an ext 100. Ext 101 (labeled 134) is not it. The director's phone isn't it. Voicemail access for the receptionist's phone (Ext 115) and former Ext 101 (unknown current extension) is locked with an unknown passcode.

They have evidently had decent turnover at this site and zero documentation. Some of these voicemails haven't worked for 3 years!

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I may be missing something simple or it may be something simple I am just unaware of, but it doesn’t seem to be so.

This is not end user info.

I suppose they are a broke non-profit also.

Wonder how much business they have missed in 3 years.
Reception can't get general messages?? Sounds like a bunch of bozo's.

Can you help, though?

What do you mean by end-user info?

I'm not sure what their company status is. They are a national company of some size. It is a drug rehab clinic, so they may be non-profit.

I'm not sure. As a clinic, I suppose they aren't actively searching for "business."

No, evidently reception cannot access voicemail. They clearly don't have a good IT department and their phones are a mess from a tech perspective. I don't know any of the history or reasons, though. They do seem decently well-run overall, however.

What brokeda means is: If we give you the "backdoor" password, what keeps everybody from using it? This is a public forum and the internet is forever, so archives exist.

The help given here is for users, not installers. Installer help is available for installers, but not in the public forums.

The problem is, you come in here and ask a question in the general forum, not even telling us you're in Texas, and not posting a profile, yet you expect "the internet" to give you an answer.

It doesn't work that way here.

Carl
