There is an occasional beeping, while on a call. No specific timing to it, the far end hears a beep, but the customer only gets a dead spot in the conversation.

Have you tested the line un-bridged from the phone system? See if maybe it's generated by the carrier. Other systems have an option to beep every so often during a call to encourage employees to hurry up and complete the call, but I don't remember the DSX having that feature.

Check with the line provider and see if you have custom calling features assigned to the line you are receiving the beep on.
Example: call waiting.

They do have call waiting. We turn call waiting off in the DSX and the problem goes away.

They need to disable call waiting from the carrier - otherwise, the carrier will still try to present another call on the same line - the annoying beep was the least of their worries - they were missing calls...

I would still drop the call waiting & add additional lines to the system if they want to present themselves as a professional business.

I too would recommend adding an additional line and having the provider setup a rollover to the new line if the main line is busy.

If the system is programmed properly, they will still see the CID of the second call without using Call Waiting through the telephone company. All that's accomplishing is losing calls and messing with the natural functionality of the DSX.
