Just recently took over the maintenance on a Mitel SX200 ML/EL Hotel System. Customer is using the Express Messenger and is using the Auto Attendant 24/7 They have a single digit menu set up to transfer offsite to the Shuttle Driver cell phone. Customer claims that it recently stopped working after a power bump. They have already tried rebooting the switch.

We checked the programming and it is set up as follows:

Single digit mailbox "1" is created as a transfer only mailbox and has the extension field set to 402. 402 is actually a speed dial bin with 9 + cell number as the stored digits.
Calling 402 from an internal set does in fact reach the Shuttle Driver's cell phone.
When pressing 1 from the main menu, the system says "transferring to 1" One ringback is heard then the auto attendant answers again. Does anyone have an idea why this is not working? We have also thought about other ways of setting this up such as flash transfer from the AA or maybe sending it to a set that is set for Call Forward External....

I would try setting it to go to an extension that is CFA to the Speed Dial number and see what happens.

Make sure that the EXP messenger ports are set to "LD", as you would with a room phone.
Also be sure option 245 is enabled in the MEM's COS

Hi. Cannot find "LD". Is this a COS feature? Does it stand for Long Distance?

Yes., make sure the voice mail ports/extensions have the ability to make outgoing calls!

Thank you for your responses. Turns out this problem may be a challenge to solve. After extensive testing it appears that 6 ports of the MEM can perform the external transfer and 2 can not. The MEM is 8 ports, and all 8 are programmed as 430S ports. All 8 are in the same COS and COR. W observe that when attempting the transfer, the 2 ports that fail to perform the transfer show "Error" on the status screen of the ports in maintenance terminal. I am looking for another form where individual port attributes may be different but I have not found any. There does not appear to be any port specific settings on the MEM itself. The 2 ports in question do not seem to have any issue with processing other types of calls.

Device Interconnection tables appear to have no restrictions.

Again, you need to make sure the two ports that are not functioning can make LD calls. Go to the console, press ATT then Function and then dial the individual extension number. Look to the right of the screen and see if the call restriction is set to int, local or LD. For this to work, those two ports need to have LD in the restrictions screen.

Problem solved! Thanks for the help folks. Rcaman and Fifty5footer both nailed it. 2 of the 8 VM ports were set to "int" instead of "LD" from the console. We had tunnel vision in that we were looking in the forms at COR and COS for these ports, not realizing that the console has the ability to trump these settings.

Thanks again.
