In IP Office basic can you have flexibility in extension numbers?
Customer had a partner acs. small motel. front office ext 10, first room 11, next room 12... perfect for acs.
Now we put in a ip office partner mode and to get a 1416 as ext 10 the combo card takes ext 10-15 and and analog 8 cards don't start til ext 17... ouch.
Thought about putting the 3 analog 8 cards in slot 1,2,3 and combo in last slot, then simply forward 10 to what ever ext the 1416 is... or of course upgrade to ip office essentials but that pushes price higher...
Any ideas.. how does flexibile numbering work?

Just found this:

System Numbering

IP Office Basic Edition - Quick Mode systems can be configured to use either a 2-digit or 3-digit numbering for user extensions.

• If 2-digit numbering is selected, the extensions are numbered 10 to 57. This numbering cannot be changed. In 2-digit mode only 48 extensions are supported.

• If 3-digit numbering is selected, the extensions are numbered from 100 upwards. This numbering can be changed in the range 100 to 579 using system web management. In 3-digit mode a maximum of 100 extensions are supported.

• In both cases, those extensions not matched by physical ports are automatically assigned as phantom extensions.

• ! WARNING
This process will restart the phone system and disconnect all currently connected calls.

• This procedure is not listed when using the Next Procedure or Previous Procedure buttons to select a procedure.

1408/1416/9504/9508 Phone

1. At either of the first two extensions on the system, press Admin.

• To do the above during a call, you may need to press the key phone PHONE button to display the Admin soft key option. If you access phone administration during a call, only the key speaker SPEAKER, key mute MUTE and key headset HEADSET buttons still affect the connected call.

2. Use the up arrow up or down down arrow arrow buttons to scroll the display to System Administration. When highlighted, press Select.

3. Dial #734. The display will show Default Numbering and the current numbering setting.

4. Use the left arrow left or right right arrow arrow icons to change the setting.

5. The display shows Immediate Reboot ?. Select either Confirm or Cancel.

Nope, no flexible dial plan in Partner mode where you can do a renumber of certain extensions and not others.

We have only used basic/Partner/Nortel mode a handful of times due to it's limitations.

IMO Avaya could do a little tweaking that would greatly help the small business market, but that's just my humble opinion.
