Greetings, I am new to the Inter Tel Axxess phone system. What does it mean when I dial an extension and it says that the extension is UnPlugged? Thanks for you help.

It either means just that or there is a wiring problem between the system and the phone. Either way, it's causing the system to think that the phone is unplugged. It may also mean that you are attempting to dial an extension that is present in the system but is not connected to anything, also referred to as a vacant port.

Is it possible to just have a mailbox that is not tied to a physical phone? If so how do I make this extension ring directly to a mailbox.
Thanks

John B:

My knowledge of this system is very limited, so the information that I have offered is all that I can personally provide. We will have to wait for someone who is more well-versed in the particular system to chime in.

More than likely, you are attempting to transfer a call to a "virtual" or "phantom" mailbox, meaning one that doesn't have an associated extension. Chances are that there's probably a simple missing step in the transfer process that's holding you back.

It can simply mean that the extension is in the system, has a port, but it is not plugged in currently.

Yes this is possible.
Do you want both inside and outside calls to go to the mailbox? A quick fix for this would be to just properly set up the forwarding path for this station.

Yes I would like both inside and outside calls to go to the mailbox. Where can i find instructions on how to set this up. I was kind of dropped into this system with no past knowledge and very little paperwork. Thanks for your help.
