System is Avaya Partner ACS, R3.0.

The message to replace battery with power on appears at extension 10, and when I changed the AAA batteries for brand new ones the message did not clear. Went and bought another set of brand new AAA batteries and installed them. The message did not clear. It doesn't seem likely to me that 2 brand new sets of AAA batteries are bad, so what does anyone suggest that might be the cause of my message not clearing. Is there a program that can clear the message...I did not see anything specific for this in the Programming and Use manual.

See if any of the battery contacts appear corroded. Sometimes a rub with a pencil eraser will resolve that problem. smile

Especially the spring contacts down inside of the ACS module. Be sure NOT to turn the AC power off while you do this, or you will wipe out the programming in the phone system. Hopefully, you have a backup/restore card in the system, and the automatic backup feature turned on.

Thank you all...I will check for corrosion. I double check when inserting the batteries because I have inadvertently put them in wrong before...appreciate you mentioning it though, as it could have been the source of the trouble!
