To transfer a caller to an extension's voice mailbox, the instructions in the SL1100 InMail Feature book, page 2-204 says to press Transfer, then Voice Mail key, then dial the extension's mailbox number. However, when you're on a call, the VM softkey isn't available. I don't see an option to program a key to be a VM key. What am I missing to transfer a caller to someone's VM?

Thanks again.
Jim

I think those instructions were for release 1 - To do a direct transfer to an extensions voicemail: Press "transfer" + ext + "8" & hang-up.

I Don't think it shows up until you hit "Transfer"

If the user has a hotline key for the extension they need to transfer to without pressing anything else they press the hotline key and number 8, hang up.

You hit transfer, the More softkey then a VMsg button shows up press that then dial the extension number.

I put in a request to move Vmsg to the first page of softkeys after pressing transfer when the system first came out, but it's still on the second page of keys.

transferring to an extension then pressing 8 speeds up the process, but a ring is still sent to the phone until 8 is pressed.
