Hello, fellow fone folks: A friend who is not a member of the forum asked me to post his question about using a T1 line to interconnect Meridian equipment. Can anyone help? Thanks!

"We have a Meridian One option 11C PBX here at work. The digital phones are M2008 phones (w/ display) and function on one pair.

My question is:

Can we use the Pulsecom D4 channel card type PWP19 L2 (Meridian P-Phone interface- switch side) and at the other end a Pulsecom PWP29 L2 (Meridian P-Phone interface – P-Phone side) to create an off-site key telephone set with a digital M2008 telephone?

We have a T1 with D4 channels banks between our Hartford, CT Studio and Meriden, CT transmitter site.

If not the M2008 sets, what sets function over the P-Phone channel cards? And would those work with our option 11C PBX?

Thank you much."

I'm not familiar with that. However he could use a Citel/MCK unit that would extend an M series set over IP. He would need a Master at the host site and a remote at the remote site. I used that solution to push sets out from NY to Asia and other countries with no issues. If you need further info feel free to PM me.

P Phones will not work for the Option 11. They are sets used on SL100, DMS100, CS2100, etc. All Central Offices not PBXs. They are basically digital Centrex sets. The above mentioned MCK recommendation is the way to go.

I've never tried the Citel equipment, but a Mini-Carrier remote would be deployed over a T1 (or 2 T1s).

How many sets do you want at the remote location?
