Hello,
I recently upgraded a CPU 128 to v5.354 from 5.349. I also upgraded the OS/2 EVMC to v5.354.
The EVMC on-line light flashes and never stays steadily lit. The CPU128 does not recognize the EVMC. I had to make a 15 pin connector for the PCM... no idea whether the cable is straight-through or if it should be reversed... the serial cable is correct.

After the EVMC reaches the loading custom tone tables (ton/default.itt) it goes no further.

Do I have to load the voice prompts? Or what am I missing?

Thanks in advance!

Are you talking about the small ribbon cable that goes between the EVMC and the CPU?

Yes, for PCM. Not sure if that's my problem though.

Thanks, I fixed the problem. I replaced the rj45 serial cable - it was straight-through and I needed a reversed cable.

Also, the 15 pin d-sub ribbon cable for the PCM needs to be straight-through if you are making them yourself.

Thanks, Jeff and thanks SD for a great site and a wealth of info!

Actually, the problem with the cable might have been with the RJ45 to DB9 adapter. I always use a standard patch cord with the adapter I have. Works every time.
