i have a cics and when i call in on the 6th ring i hear a modem tone. i want to set my voicemail to answer after 8 rings. this only happens on line 1. how can i get the tone off or lenghten the number of rings before i hear it. i went through the programs in config and could not find anything that would do it. any ideas? thanks

Make sure it is not the alarm system picking the call up.

this system was just put in. there is no alarm fax machine or any other device connected. when i was in programming i saw irad one time but i was not able to change it. i think i saw it under ccr. could you tell me the exact program heading to look under and change. thanks.

Under "System Programming" hit show and then next until "Remote Access" then hit show and then next again until you see "IRAD". After you hit show and next you will see the ring timer.

One other thing, when you set you voice mail to 8 rings, you can rest assured 99.9% of your callers will hang up before they go to voice mail.
