Irrespective of one's opinion of Mr. Trump, I find it hypocritical that people who champion freedom of speech, diversity and acceptance were just successful in shutting down a Trump rally at the University of Illinois Chicago.

Am I being too thin skinned...or...is there some morsel of truth to my feeling?

Well he does keep asking for it, but I didn't know the rally shut things down.

The protesters forced the campaign to cancel the rally due to security concerns.

While the protests have been relatively peaceful, it sends the message that if you do not hold the same opinion as me, you are not welcome here.

Now the scuffles are starting and the police are getting actively involved.

This is just an opinion of course, but when he condones protesters getting roughed up and yells throw the bums out from his bully pulpit, that only creates an atmosphere for more and more protesters to show up at each event. So that's why I said he's been asking for it. This has been the most uncivil primary I've ever witnessed.

The difference...as it looks to me...is that protesting outside a venue is one thing. Crashing a rally for the sole purpose of instigation is something else.

BLM crashed a Bernie Sanders rally. I don't know if Hillary has been interrupted. What happened tonight could be replicated at other rallies in other cities.

It will be interesting to see if similar protests break out at other rallies on both sides of the isle in other cities. And if they do, how will the media cover them.

Ain't that the truth! It used to be political challengers were merely liberals disagreeing with conservatives. They were still ladies and gentlemen and actually liked and respected each other. I have no explanation for the current circus except to say all the candidates seem to be clowns of one sort or another.

The current political climate seems to dictate that free speech is only free if you agree with the crowd speaking the loudest or with the most muscle.

Hmmm, Chicago, Obama is from Chicago. Anybody see a connection?

I really hope I'm wrong on this one, but with all the inflamitory talk and skirmishes breaking out at the Trump rallies, I can see where someone pulls a gun and does the unthinkable. Again, I hope I'm wrong.

I like the chaos. I like the fact that things are getting exposed.

Look at whats going on in Europe and ask yourself if you want that here. This county is doomed if we keep up the liberal thinking and political correctness.

Socialism doesn't work.

Socialism works exactly as it is designed to work. Those in power become rich and even more powerful. Those who work must work harder and longer to pay for those who don't work but are supported by the socialist government's "entitlements."

The petite bourgeoisie and the proletariat are terms used to describe the classes of people the socialists want to control.

70 years of communism (which is the ultimate expression of socialism) and it's corruption and failures should inspire any socialist to try again. After all, capitalism doesn't work, right?
