Is there anything that can be done about the annoying alert that comes through the external page port when a page is made? Like lower the volume, change the tone, turn it off??

Haven't touched an 800, but I assume there is an option under System Data-->System Attributes for "Page Warning Tone". Have you tried that?

Summit 800 A&P manual...search for page warning tone...instructions to disable it are there.

Thank you. I will check the manual. I called myself looking, but I guess I overlooked that.
