I have a customer that has multiple IPO 406 units, all at Rel 4.1 (15). One of the units has multiple DS ports that are bad and was wondering if he could just have me swap out the unit. I have a 406 on hand that is at Rel 4.2 (14). Will this be compatible with the 4.1 (15) units? I'm hoping so, as I don't think I have a copy of 4.1 (15) firmware around.

Your working with very old stuff. I would upgrade to 500 V2.
Support on equipment that old is hard to find. It's not supported anymore.

Good luck

Tried talking the customer into upgrading, but if they do then they won't be able to network this site to their other locations, as all are running on 406's. Beings I have a 406 lying around, he agreed to buy it off me and I'd install it. Next budget cycle, they are going to plan to replace all their 406's with 500v2 units. Basically this is just to get them going.

BTW, pretty sure the DS card isn't changeable on the 406. Isn't it just integrated into the chassis?
