I have an NEC SV8100 with the PZ-ME50 card and I need to add a second CD-16DLCA card to double my phone count. I notice that the voicemail ports are at 16, which from what I have read is due to the presence of the PZ-ME50 card. In that same reading I thought I had discovered that I should also have 128 total ports that I could provision. From that I assumed that adding a second 16 port DLCA card would not take me over my ports. However when I add the card, and provision the 16 ports as MLT, the system Voicemail ports just disappear.

Is it the case that I need to buy a 64 to 256 port upgrade license to accompany the new card, in order to use the additional ports and still have voicemail?

Is there anyway for me to setup the system to use about 4 of the additional DLCA ports and then still have 12 ports for Voicemail? That would be ideal at this point. Any tricks of the trade that someone can send my way are appreciated.

If you are licensed for 64 ports, then you need to add up all of the station cards (all ports on the card whether used or not)/trunk ports and VM ports. If it exceeds 64 then you need to get the 256 port license. Once the card is installed it uses all of the port licenses.
