I have installed a new SBX with PRI. Works great EXCEPT CID name is not seen. I am testing this by sending he last three digits of a DID to a station. Phone rings, see CID number in center of the screen, left side. Extension on right. When answer CID number still there, elapsed timer on right - no CID name. Carrier says they are sending it. Vertical Tech Support says no programing is necessary for CID name to appear. Any help appreciated.

I would make sure that the number you are dialing from is not listed in Speed Dial. I "think" the speed dial name (or lack thereof) will be displayed on incoming calls when a number is matched.

Have you, or Vertical, done a TRACE to see if you are indeed getting the name from the Telco?

This is the procedure for programming cid name on the phones when using CO lines. I think the second part is necessary when using a PRI as well.

Programming the Admin Station Caller ID via Admin Phone
You can use the Phone Admin to program Caller ID for Station 100-101 as follows:
From any Admin phone Station:
1) Log in as an Administrator.
2) Press PGM and dial 147.
3) Enter 0103 (for CO Range to Program).
4) Press Flex Button 1.
5) Press 1 for FSK.
6) Press Flex Button 2, then enter 0 (for Number) or 1 (for Name).
7) Press Save to store the setting.
8) Press PGM, then dial 114.
9) Enter 100101 for (Station Range to Program).
10) Press Flex Button 1, then dial 1 for (Turn on Caller ID Display).
11) Press Save to store the setting.

Also check your ISDN programming for the trunks themselves, did conversion type 2 all PRI lines set for ISDN/DID. Unlike the XTS/sts there is no specific option for PRI name in display. The name in display option in pgm 114 is the closest thing to that.

Iam "new" to Vertical and started by using a laptop not dial-in codes over the phone. In CO Base, CID Attribute, I have FSK, NAME turned on for all the PRI channels. All the phones show the CID number fine - the name is missing. I have used Trace before but Vertical held my hand doing it. Set DIP switch 2 to off, In LDK Remote Diagnostics, use jennie to get to command line. Not sure what command to use to see incoming CID name/number on PRI? Any help appreciated.

I don't do it enough to tell someone else how to do it. blush

You should call tech-support and have them walk you through this.

Since cid info both name and number appears on a digital display set pretty much by default, it is my opinion the carrier is not providing the name (or not providing it in the necessary format) no matter what they tell you they are doing.

Resolved: Vertial Tech Support had me remove the Station Group name and un-check Queue Count Display. This was 1/2 the problem I also found that the Flexible DID table, Name blocks CID name. I put a name in so it is easier to manage the list of DID's. Bad choice with SBX. I removed all the DID names = problem resolved. Carrier also set circuit to Standard ISDN. FYI

We didn't have all that info...ringing into a station group, did name etc. Glad you got it resolved.
