Let's keep in mind that the political preferences of the members of this site run the full spectrum from liberal to conservative.
Both of the major party candidates are flawed, and, any discussions here should be about the candidates and not about those who vote for one or the other.
Despite prior incidents where political discussions got heated and nasty, we've allowed discussions to slide as long as things remained civil.
Let's keep discussions focused on the candidates themselves and not on who votes for this one or that one.
So far, the political talk has been good. If discussions devolve again, we'll start cracking down.

Anyone who votes for a proven liar, cannot be trusted. That would stop us from ever voting for anyone

On a serious note what a fiasco we are watching.
Trump looked like a grade school child in a debate against a high schooler and looked foolish.
Hillary just told more lies.
I don't see either one of them as fit for the office.

The "Truth" meter got a good workout from both sides. Who checks the fact checkers? I get a kick out of comments against or for the fact checkers as people only believe the fact checker if it agrees with their own opinions. Feeling are strong and people are pretty stuck in their beliefs.

My neighbor, across the street, has a beagle. Her name is Phred. If I ask Phred if she wants to play, she wags her tail and barks once. If I ask her if she's hungry, and she can smell something good, she wags her tail and barks twice.
I asked Phred which candidate should I vote for? When I said their names, she puked.
I'm voting for Phred. She's honest and she would make as good a president as anyone that could be elected.

Feeling are strong and people are pretty stuck in their beliefs. That is undoubtedly the story behind this election. Hillary supporters couldn't care less about her email scandal, Benghazi, her health etc. Trump supporters don't care about his childish rants, name calling, lack of experience etc. Make that 2 votes for Phred

Both are proven liars and can't be trusted. In a year where we are voting for the lesser of 2 evils, the question we should ask ourselves is why are we, as voters, putting ourselves in this position? Why don't we demand a higher standard from our candidates? Make it 3 for Phred.

If you had to go through what the so called press (talking heads) put them through as well as the half truths and down right lies the opposing parties try to get people to believe about the "other guy" you wouldn't want to run either. In my opinion that's why we have the candidates we have, no decent person in their right mind would put their families through that. We're the ones that promote this type of "journalism" by listening to those organizations crap. Tune them out, turn them off. I know it won't happen, but I think that's the answer. Look up the Fairness Doctrine, when it was abolished broadcasters no longer had to uphold the truth, that was the downfall of the "NEWS" My rant is done.
