We spend the bulk of this weekend chasing our tails and I wanted to share what we came up with so some future person can find this post and not waste hours or days wondering what the problem is.

Scenario:

NeM under Windows 10. Connected to a CIX 40, have programmed all extensions, COS, etc. Found out I needed to upgrade the firmware to support SIP trunks.

When I try to access the SM/SD Card functions, eManager spins for almost exactly 5 minutes. Then the appropriate screen comes up, but I can't access the card. Everything else in eManager seems to be working fine.

We've been analyzing net traffic and figured out FTP is going on, but Windows Firewall was preventing the switch from sending data back to the PC. Turned off Firewall, problem solved.

I hope this helps someone in the future. Or, maybe it's something everyone but me already knows. Either way, now it's in writing.

Have a great day!

The Windows firewall has always affected the SM/SD FTP from working correctly even in the WinAdmin days.

Switch off the Windows firewall it will never rear its ugly head until you re-install the software onto another PC and forget to switch it off again smile

On Windows 10, my PC occasionally pops up asking me to turn the firewall back on. Also since I use a USB Ethernet adapter it sometimes gets turned back on when I switch USB ports.

I just turned mine off. As a matter of course we use Linux here, so the Windows machines that we have are isolated behind our company firewall anyway. They aren't used for web surfing or office apps, only for things like eManager that NEED Win-doze.
