I need to replace a comdial DXRNG ring generator on a DXP plus,on the expansion cabinet. My only problem is we can not power down the system. Can I do a hot swap on the DXRNG ring generator. It is not connected to the power supply like the main cabinet. It is on the side and about a foot cable to plug in.

I have done it but I don't think it was factory recommended. As rare as they are I wouldn't chance blowing a good one.

I would say not to do it. Why cant you power down? Make sure you have a backup and any software keys recorded
