Who remembers the days of floor plans, up to date cable records and well documented feed cables?

Well......
Yes and no.
In the late '70s I installed a NEAX 31 in the (replacement) Bronx VA Hospital. All went well.
After cutover we came in to work to find that (almost) all the trunks feed ing the PBX were dead. The DIDs and the CCSA trunks (which were new) were working. All the OGT, ICT and BWT (which had been swung over from the old. now demolished hospital) were dead at the Demarc.
Why?
NY Tel had computerized their records. Instead of looking to see which pair Trunk X went to and entering that into the new system they transferred the paper records to the computer and then went and CHANGED THE CROSS CONNECTS TO MATCH THE COMPUTER.
Because we were a hospital we were given priority and so it only took a week to get our service back up and running.
We sometimes remember things fondly when it just wasn't really so.
