SV8100 on FiOS - Every Sunday for 3 weeks our main number in our 9 number hunt group, jumps to busy with no one the line.
Thel line has dial tone facing the street, the phones show the line is busy.

If the phones show that line as busy it's not a Verizon problem if that's what you are thinking.

SIP trunks? Is someone attempting to hack them? How are you releasing it? Are you using port 5060? Can you coordinate a change to a less common port?

Couple things. It could be a mailbox using pager notification. I would check your database and see if a SIP phone has been attached to you system without knowing. Could someone be calling in and the auto attendant is picking up?

On site make a test call to their line 1, let AA answer the call, hang up, see if the call releases or hangs.
