My wife Diane competed in the Mountain Dulcimer competition in the Old Fiddler's Convention at Galax Va. It is an 85 year old competition, and she did really well. It was a miracle she was there, she came down with Lyme's disease, which brought on a bout of shingles ten days before. She was in lots of pain but determined to play. Her guitar player ended up in the hospital two nights before and his brother took over. Dave and Diane did not have much time to learn to play together. It was tough but they came thru. Diane taught herself how to play and practiced for weeks to compete..she made me proud. You can hear and see it here: Diane playing Going to Boston
