Greetings,
My spare 7030 that was 4.82 after a power failure now just blinks v2.2 on the phones. I understand that there is an sio cable recovery procedure like there was for 4.60 to bring it to 4.93. Does anybody happen to have a copy of the sio procedure? I have the OSDM procedure for recovery but I can't get there.
TIA,

John 807

If you google "How to Recover the OS7030" you'll find the pdf tech bulletin, I've restored a couple of them using the doc

I use a Cisco console cable to connect to my laptop. The homemade cable I have is a female rj 45B wh/bl to pin 1 bl/wh to pin 2 and wh/or going to pin 3 and that works fine unless I inadvertently plug the 3 prong in backwards to the 7030.
I hope this helps,

No need to post the same thing in 2 different threads. Test the cable you made by looping the tx to the rx .Whatever you type should appear on the screen.

You are in Morocco I have no idea what package you would need if the one you found doesn't work.

the os7030 system displays the message
Samsung> printenv
bootdelay = 3
baudrate = 38400
eth1addr = 00: aa: bb: cc: dd: ff
mspname = ms30v521.pkg
cspname = cs30t200.pkg
irdname = dr30t200.pkg
bootfile = bt30t200.bin
but i have the package that contains bt30v493.bin, cs30t493.pkg and dr30t493.pkg it is not compatible.
I want to inform you that we program OS7030 in Australia mode

It sounds like you have the new 4.93 software it may be a slightly different procedure than a straight recovery

DB Compatibility
- The database of V4.93 is not compatible with that of a previous version including the
V4.91 because of changing file system to YAFFS2/MTD.
- For changing file system, Boot S/W should be upgraded to V4.93.
- How to change file system refers to ‘OS7030 - How to change file system instructions’
- File extension of new package is changed from pkg to pkm.
- Download the database of the existing system before upgrading to V4.93 using DM.
- After upgrading to V4.93, upload the downloaded DB by DM.
[Major Changes]
[-/OS7030/ALL] Changing file system to YAFFS2/MTD.

Never had to do it but I believe SIO is the only way to bring it back when it fails.

I can't give you what I don't have.
You need to find the document on how to change the file system on the 7030 with 4.93 upgrade.You are going to need to do this anyway to prevent it from happening again.

I went to do this the other day, following the document from Samsung and it didn't mention using putty or hyperterminal or anything. Just to have the TFTP server running. Was I missing a page maybe?

For those that have gotten this to work, what program are you using?

If your system is working you can do a 2 step upgrade to 4.93 (or higher) and you don't need hyper terminal or a cable, just the files and a tftp server.

If your system won't boot, then you'll need the cable, hyperterminal (or any other terminal emulation like putty or terraterm), and the files.

The system couldn't connect to the tftp server on your laptop.
Make sure it's running.
I found tdtpd a bit unreliable. I use 3cdaemon.

Thank you, nameless! I got it to work now!!
I found I had a hidden tftp application running at the background. I got rid of the hidden one, and used 3CDaemon.

Thanks again!

Just need a little help on recovering an OS7030. I recovered a several OS7030 PBXs via the SIO method from the past. Recently I was trying to recover another one, but I had an error after I entered "run nanderaseall" in TeraTerm. Please see below screenshot.

[Linked Image from philipchung.ca]

Any idea what caused the error?
