Customer has a Norstar MICS with two T7406E cordless phones. These are bad, and I haven't had good luck with replacements. I'd like to replace them with a couple of ATA's and some off the shelf cordless phones. I don't want the type that has one base and three handhelds. I want a separate cordless phone on each ATA. Would I run into problems with two cordless phone bases in close proximity to each other?

Thanks.
Jim

You need to ask the manufacturer of the model you want for those questions....nothing to do with the KSU or the ATA's.

You should look for cordless phones that you can set on different channels with a security code (dip-switch, etc). That way they "should" not interfere with each other.

I think DECT phones might have that

Jim,
Just remember if you go the ATA route you will lose caller ID and easy feature access on those sets. I'm only mentioning it because I know of a client who went from 7406's and SpectraLinks to EnGenius long range sets and those two things became major issues.
Thanks

VTech offers a CS6619 Dect 6.0 phone that we have used often. Numerous times we have had two base units sitting close to each other with no issues. Inexpensive.

I installed a couple of that model 2 weeks ago Rick, and they seem to be doing ok. Thanks.
