Customer with comcast co lines, calls drop intermittently 30 sec or so into a call. Tested co lines, clear and good volume, reset system
Told customer to report trouble to comcast. Another customer 2 miles away with comcast was having low volume.
Thanks, Gary S.

Believe it or not, the voltage on the lines may be too HIGH, not low as usually suspected. I'd measure them. If they're at 52 volts or more, that's your problem. Remember that lines were designed to leave a traditional CO at 52 volts so that they would arrive at the customer's premises (after voltage drop) at about 48 volts. Systems were never intended to work right on 52 volts. Comcast's EMTA is right there, so there's no voltage drop. I'd ask them to tone it down, which they won't. You'll need to invest in some attenuators from Sandman to fix it correctly.

Its the way Comcast delivers the lines, their SIP to analog converters can have the co voltages set wrong and then its just as Ed posted above.
