Summit 80. When a station is busy the DSS light is red. But on incoming call, the phones ring and all the station DSS button lights go off. How do I get busy DSS lights to stay lit on incoming calls so others know they are busy and cannot answer the call?

A station dss button or dss panel button if programmed with a station number should stay lit while in use or while ringing. You can create a co line appearance on a station or dss panel button and it will light when ringing and stay lit while in use as well.

Don't forget that you can alter the flash rates for varying status conditions on buttons in PGM 170. It's great for removing that annoying flashing of any station's DSS button when ringing on incoming calls. Just set that condition to no flash. Same applies to the SBX under PGM 161, button 18.

We don't have anything odd programmed. Line buttons and DSS station buttons. But on an incoming call, the DSS stations that are busy do not stay lit while the phones are ringing. They go back to being lit after someone answers the call. We have not had this issue on other Summit systems we have installed. Our software version is 2.2.4 We rolled the software version back to 2.1.37 and everything works like it should---busy DSS stations stay lit on an incoming call. So obviously this is a flaw in the new software revision.

That is what it seems to be, make sure you report this bug to Veritcal (they may see it here) and they will add it to to the next SW revision, they are good about that.

Have you tried turning off the DSS CO Ring Flash? I've always found that to be a useless feature. System Data-->LED Flashing Rates (PMG 170) --> DSS CO Ring.

Just another update...we have rolled the software back to 2.1.37 and the DSS buttons stayed lit on an incoming call. We updated the software to 2.2.24 (original SW load), 2.2.34 (as recommended by Toni at Vertical) and 3.0.22 (saw this version on the FTP site) and the DSS lights do not stay lit while the phones are ringing. After ringing has stopped the DSS buttons will light up just as they were before the phones started ringing. As of now, we are not using a SW level newer than 2.1.37 until this issue is fixed.

We do have the LED Flashing Rates---DSS CO Ring set to off and same thing happens. We usually shut this feature off as well. Thanks.

Update---We upgraded a system to 3.1.7 and the busy DSS lights will stay on during an incoming call. But, who knows what is not working now.
