I just installed a small SL2100 (3) Phones I upgraded it to latest software 1.05
I noticed that the phones seem to have a little bit of tinny sound when on speaker while listening to Voice Mail /internal and I believe external as well but cant remember at this time (The SL1100 seems much clearer while listening to voice mail )

(I did remove the piece of plastic around the phone)

The customer didn't say anything but I certainly notice it compare to SL1100

also when I tried to program line calibration it went thru the steps but then came back with the word error on the screen

They are using copper lines from Verizon

I spoke with Tech support and they said that they have seen this with SIP Trunks

I was just wondering if anyone else has seen this

I've run into the same problem with the new duplex speakerphones on a PRI circuit - I first tried dropping the phone mount - push the clips back in to let the phone set at a lower angle and also if set on a hard surface, place a piece of paper or cardboard under the phone so that the microphone is aimed at it instead. If all this fails and you can't lower the speakerphone volume enough to get rid of the issue, there is a method that NEC support can provide which will allow you to adjust the db level of the microphone and speaker levels at each phone - I would only use this as a last resort though...
