Small school with Adix system. Some phones quit then shortly after all phones out. They have 3 display phones and the rest just plane Omega phones. After I played with it for a while I got the classroom phones to work but not the display phones. If this is just a simple card replacement I would like to find replacement card.

Card configuration:

044

SPSUB-1

408

EDVIF

CPU/HW

If it was built after 1980 don't expect it to work right.

The display phones are probably connected to the 8PSUB-1 card. It depends on where the 044 card is, and whether it has a daughterboard on it. It it does, the card handles 4 digital stations, 4 analog stations and 4 trunks. The daughterboard is for the trunks. This card has to be in the slot marked 97-120. The Slot marked 1-8 is probably where the display phones are connected. If you have a working phone, an LED on the edge of the card will light if the phone is in use. May help you narrow down which cards are working and which aren't.

You can do a simple swap test. On the edge of the cards near the bottom is a small slide switch. Slide the switch down to make a red LED flash. This busys-out the card so you can hot swap them. After you swap the cards, wait for the LED to start flashing again, then slide the switch up again. It will take a few seconds. Swap the 8PSUBB-1 for the 408 to see if a display phone comes up. This will show whether or not the cards are any good. The 408 card handles 8 digital station and 4 trunks, so moving it from its current slot will kill your CO lines while you do the test. The EDVIF card is a relay/interface card, usually used for overhead page connections.

Once you have a display phone working, leave the handset in the cradle, dial FEAT 99.The display will say 'EXT 00n 201' or something similar, where the '00n' is the logical port the phone is connected to. Programming is done from an attendant phone, usually port 001, but can be changed in programming. If you do the FEAT 99 thing and the display shows a lower-case 's' after the extension number, that phone is an attendant phone.

In a pinch, you could replace the 8PSUB-1 card with a 408 if you don't have to use the onboard trunk ports.

Lemme know what else you need

Sometimes the thoughts in my head get so bored, they go for a stroll through my mouth. This is rarely a good thing.
